ZONOLITE INSULATING CONCRETE (ZIC)

The BH Group provides Siplast ZIC lightweight insulating concrete. The ZIC roof deck system is comprised of vermiculite aggregate, Portland cement, and water. Manufactured on the jobsite, these materials are used to create an aggregate lightweight insulating concrete. This system is used in new construction over venting metal deck. Given the aggregate nature of the lightweight concrete it is recommended for hot and arid climates where hydration and cracking is a concern. The ZIC system provides a minimum compressive strength of 125 psi at a 2 inch minimum thickness. In addition, ZIC is shown to have the lowest membrane aging value.
